Manufacturing Director of R&D

Austin, Texas – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national manufacturer of electric motors and due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for Director of R&D – Manufacturing.

What you will do: The R&D Director establishes current and long range objectives, plans, and policies, conceptualizes, creates, and articulates the technical vision for the company, and plans for the implementation of new technical projects or product lines in support of resulting technical roadmaps. The role dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results. The position creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines schedule of product releases or project deadlines, while also planning and directing all investigations and negotiations pertaining to technical aspects of mergers, joint ventures, acquisition of businesses, or sales of major assets. Additionally, the R&D Director analyzes new technologies and runs competitive analyses, represents organization with major customers, shareholders, and the public, and manages subordinate managers/supervisors.

What you will need: PHD in Engineering. Expert knowledge research and development within manufacturing. Current experience in a director level role. Strong knowledge in electric motors.
