Manufacturing Applications Engineer - Tailwind

Dayton, Ohio  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading manufacturer of electrical and mechanical motion control and power generation products serving markets throughout the world. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Tailwind Applications Engineer.

What you will do: The Tailwind Applications Engineer builds strong relationships, engages with customer effectively in presenting  offered air flow optimization product/solutions to customer application challenges, and coordinates all sales focused customer activities between customers and Tailwind engineering/lab team members in evaluating best motor/blower solutions. The role provides inputs in design of the motor/blower based on customer needs and application knowledge gathered from field visits, conducts complex root cause analysis and identification of field issues observed, and approves corrective action authorization (8D analysis) and has customer communication leadership. The position supports and approves complex product design changes and provides technical product analysis to the plant for specific projects or customers. Additionally, the Tailwind Application Engineer participates in pricing evaluations for motor/blower solutions identified for specific customers.

What you will need: BSME. Experience in HVAC Industry. Previous experience in product design or application engineering of air-conditioning/refrigeration HVAC systems. Knowledge/exposure to HVAC system components, their operation and troubleshooting (Motors, Blowers, Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Cooling Coils, etc). Understanding of ECM type motors or extensive VFD experience. Understating SEER/FER Regulations Impacting HVAC industry. Knowledge in performance testing of Air Handlers and Gas Furnaces. Product design knowledge of Air Handlers/Gas Furnaces. Black Belt or MBB certification/experience preferred.
