Romulus, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading tier-one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Logistics Planner.
What you will do: The Logistics Planner generates concept alternatives in cooperation with quality, manufacturing, plant planning, IT and the facilities/headquarters in consideration of customer specifications. The role creates specifications for requests to logistics service providers, supports individual container planning and creation of necessary specification sheets, and chooses logistic service providers in consideration of process and cost point of view in cooperation with the purchasing department. The position implements/introduces planned logistic concepts, documents and maintains acquired knowledge concerning the planning and generation of processes in the plants, and collaborates with purchasing to make supplier decisions. Additionally, the Logistics Planner optimizes internal and external logistics processes, realizing occasional customer visits in order to reconcile sequence and cost discussions.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration. Experience in the automobile industry or ancillary industry. Current experience in logistics planning and supply chain within a amnaufacturing environment. Experience with high volume manufacturing.
