Somerset, Kentucky – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading manufacturer of tier-two automotive components. Due to recent growth, they have opened a position for a Logistics Coordinator, west of Somerset.
What you will do: The Logistics Coordinator directs communications between the Production Team, Engineering Team and the Logistics Team, acts as liaison to suppliers, and works with the Floor Planning Committee in the establishment of new production and logistics equipment. The role provides on-site support for Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, and Purchasing departments, oversees supply chain management, inventory management, distribution, warehousing, logistics and customer service for new programs, and develops and utilizes assessment tools to identify opportunities for improvement. The position works directly with the purchasing and sales groups to establish the most cost-effective practices from delivery to sale, provides oversight and guidance to suppliers, and drives actions that address opportunities with packaging, delivery, and storage. Addtionally, the Logistics Coordinator, through continuous improvement, measures the supply chain by gathering data and proactively addressing any trends, leads suppliers and cross-functional teams through development planning and execution in order to facilitate prelaunch and launch requirements, and assists in the establishment of purchasing processes for indirect material and in the development and quoting of indirect suppliers relevant to new programs.
What you will need: Current experience in Logistics and Project Management. Experience in automotive manufacturing.
