Lean Engineer

Smallwood, South Carolina – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com     is working with a manufacturing of electronic components that supplies to the automotive, industrial, medical, military and aerospace industries. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Lean Engineer.

What you will do: The Lean Engineer drives the production system through all levels of the site organization. The role trains site leadership and other key personnel on production system elements, works with site leaders to conduct assessments of critical site and business needs, and develops a thorough, effective, and timely continuous improvement plan to address the top business needs at the site. The position leads kaizen events, Six Sigma projects and other activities that execute on the site improvement plan, provides frequent reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives, and removes barriers of the continuous improvement plan. Additionally, the Lean Engineer works with site leadership to update and re-prioritize the plan to maintain focus on the most critical site objectives, mentors others on the production system so it becomes the standard operating procedure of the organization, and develops shop floor experts capable of driving production system tools in their areas.

What you will need: Six Sigma or Kaizen certification. Thorough understanding of the laminates manufacturing process, raw materials and suppliers’ processes, customer requirements, and key financial drivers. An understanding of key principles and methods of Lean and Six Sigma, including: Muda, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, TPM, kanban, pull systems, flow, standard work, error-proofing, visual management, measurement systems analysis, C&E, FMEA, DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, control plans.
