Lead Embedded Software Development Engineer - BMS

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with an international supplier of raw materials and electronics to the manufacturing industry. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Lead Embedded Software Development Engineer reports to the Software Systems Engineering Manager and provides technical leadership for the development of a product or product family of Battery Management Systems (BMS). The role defines technical direction for the programs embedded software, provides high level definitions of solutions to address customer requirements, and assists team members in getting clarification of requirements from customers, while also leading discussion of technical issues with customers. The position acts as lead development engineer with development, architectural and/or oversight responsibility for performance or safety-critical software modules, provides input and analysis to the Software Change Review Board, and tracks/analyses software requirements changes. Additionally, the Lead Embedded Software Development Engineer translates customer requirements into detailed software requirements and design, develops plans for and leads integration test, and leads/supports issue resolution.

What you will need: BMS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Current embedded systems development experience. Hands on knowledge of structured software design and code development meth ods (e.g. SPICE/CMMI), software lifecycles (development/deployment), and CMMI level 3, Automotive network data structures, protocols, (e.g. CAN, GM LAN, FNOS, J1939), and ISO-26262/IEC-61508. Hardware design experience. Strong Familiarity with C, C++, Assembly languages. Matlab/Simulink/RTW experience for embedded automotive applications highly desirable. Major automotive microprocessors (Motorola/Freescale, Intel, STMicro) MEC55x experience desired. Knowledge of HV battery systems desired.
