Launch Manager – Tier One Automotive

Auburn, Indiana – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a tier-one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have opened a position for a Launch Manager.

What you will do: The Launch Manager is the technical interface between the manufacturing plant team and the program management and customer teams. This position coordinates activities to achieve program deliverables, ensures successful launches, manages quality expectations, tracks tooling, and meets delivery requirements, while also leading plant APQP activities and product validation. The position initiates feasibility commitments for new programs, develops tooling requirements, tracking and verification, develops plant specification sheets for part quality, develops packaging specifications, and performs part capability studies. Additionally, the Launch Manager leads program finance and budgeting, including material costing, bill-of-material creation and capital equipment requirements, provides product-specific support to marketing, including presentations, datasheets, customer visits, market research data, formulation of product business and launch plans, and develops sample and prototype manufacturing schedules with the plant scheduling department and support development.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in launch engineering. Experience in engineering or quality. Experience in the automotive industry is a plus. Hands on experience with all tools of TS16949 especially APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis. Working knowledge of SPC, capability analysis, gage R&R and statistical techniques. Experience in formulating and managing project schedules required, preferably using WBS and GANTT format.
