Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created Customer Launch Engineer position open.
What you will do: The Customer Launch Engineer provides launch and technical support for new products and product improvements, supports problem resolution efforts for any issues which arise, and establishes/maintains support presence at assembly and wiring plants in support of launch and problem resolution activities. The role educates customers in the use of company products, develops and updates application specs and training aids to assist in training and usage, and creates specialized visuals where necessary to enhance application specifications in the manufacturing plant. The position deploys support for urgent situations at customer and company facilities, facilitates and documents problem solving methodology with emphasis on accurate problem statement, root cause analysis and verification, and presents problem solutions and design enhancements internally and to customers to obtain support for these efforts. Additionally, the Customer Launch Engineer mentors product and project engineers in and outside of the launch department, implements product improvements and changes and launches improved product at customer sites, and supports new product development efforts by attending design and feasibility reviews.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Previous product engineering or production support engineering experience. Expertise in the use of analytical tools, project management tools, PC and workstation software. Working knowledge of connection sealed systems, GD&T, and product function. Hands-on experience with assembly, test, and rework of product. Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes (Stamping, Molding and Assembly) and tooling used in manufacture, assembly, handling and crimping of our products in automotive and wiring assembly plants.
