Newnan, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a privately held multinational company in the automotive space. Due to recent growth, they have a newly created position for an Injection Molding Manager just east of Newnan.
What you will do: The Injection Molding Manager is responsible for ensuring successful, cost-effective, and timely injection mold tooling management for all assigned programs. The role manages and assesses the performance of tooling suppliers, prepares and issues detailed RFQ’s to tooling suppliers for new business quotes, and ensures the timely submission of cost data for all new product quotes. The position maintains/updates the “Injection Mold Tooling Standards” and ensures that all tooling suppliers work within those standards, while also providing insight and alternatives to the Product Engineers and Product Designers. Additionally, the Injection Molding Manager oversees tooling trials, troubleshooting, problem solving, and transitioning tools from trial to production, manages the post launch lessons learned specifically for injection mold tooling, and evaluates low cost alternatives to reduce tooling costs.
What you need: Bachelor’s Degree. Current experience in a management position within automotive manufacturing. Knowledgeable of CAD systems/software for product and tool designs. Excellent knowledge of injection molded tool design. Experience with APQP, GD&T, Automotive quality and appearance standards, and grain requirements. Experienced with tool designs including runner-less (Sequential Valve Gate Hot Manifolds), two shot and insert molding. Knowledge of glass mineral filled nylon and other structural resins.
