Hardware Controls Engineer – Tier One Automotive

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a growing Tier One automotive supplier.  Our client is expanding rapidly in to the big 3 and has a newly opened position for a Hardware Controls Engineer.

What you will do: The Hardware Controls Engineer is responsible for the design and integration of hardware controls hardware engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. The position executes hardware product design, feasibility studies, preparation of specifications and technical documentation and carries out engineering solutions and designs in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and project specifications, while also evaluating solutions in respect to feasibility and cost effectiveness. The role carries out engineering solutions and designs in compliance with the applicable NEC, NFPA UL and IEC requirements, releases and tracks information through PDM and SAP, and develops system hardware drawing sets with eDesign, including package set up and symbol creation, while also regularly attending assigned job sites. Additionally, the Hardware Controls Engineer prepares documentation to support a design compliance with all applicable codes and standards (ex. Arc Flash, SCCR, Heat Load, FLA), prepares hardware documentation for customer approval, equipment build and ship to customer, and supports hardware engineering requirements for equipment build and debug.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in controls. Experience in hardware manufacturing. Experience working in a tier-one or OEM automotive manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
