General Manager - Defense/Aerospace

Oxford, Alabama – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a national defense contractor and due to their most recent growth, they have opened a position for a General Manager.

What you will do: The General Manager directs all business unit objectives to ensure the achievement of planned sales, pretax profit and cash generation. The position directs all sales and marketing activities to achieve product growth and profitability consistent with stated objectives, directs planning for assigned business units, and directs the achievement of cost, quality, schedule, and profitability objectives for assigned business unit programs. The role establishes and achieves safety objectives by assuring the administration of a comprehensive safety program, is responsible for the effective implementation of continuous improvement, and establishes program priorities and provides policy guidelines to ensure program directors/managers work effectively. Additionally, the General Manager directs the formulation of the assigned business unit product development plan and monitors and controls execution and provides early problem recognition, analysis, and resolution to ensure the program directors/managers have the means to recover quickly from plan or specification deviations.

What you will need: Advanced degree in Management preferable with strong technical and finance aptitude. Advanced managerial experience within the manufacturing/DoD environment, program management, marketing, and operations. Proven experience in missile defense programs. Security clearances. Experience running P&L. Experience in a machine shop with CNC machines, lathes, etc.
