Functional Safety Engineer - Tier One

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a tier-one automotive supplier. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Functional Safety Engineer.

What you will do: The Functional Safety Engineer reviews and identifies the safety requirements for your product, manages the generation of the safety case, and establishes a close relationship with customer safety engineers. The role leads system safety development and safety case generation, provides hazard analysis, safety concept(s), DFMEA(with safety extensions), FTA, FMEDA, etc, and supports the continued development of a safety culture. The position supports global collaboration of continuous improvement, supports the development of functional safety competencies, and maintains safety case in DOORS. Additionally, the Functional Safety Engineer attends appropriate meetings to support project development and supports functional safety assessments/audits on adjacent programs.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Current experience as a safety engineer. Experience in development of functional safety products(ISO-26262). Knowledge of DOORs, Visio, MS suite. Familiarity with GM, Chrysler and/or Ford functional safety process.
