Functional Safety Engineer – Electronics

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a multi-national leader in automobile electronics. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Functional Safety Engineer.

What you will do: The Functional Safety Engineer develops and implements the company’s functional safety program in accordance with the ISO 26262 standard. The role plans, coordinates and tracks the activities related to functional safety, ensures the confirmation measures are performed including confirmation reviews, functional safety audits and functional safety assessments, and defines/documents the ISO 26262 compliant safety related product development process. The position defines/documents templates and guidelines for all process phases to ease the task of development teams, mentors/ trains development teams in the use application of, and understanding of the ISO 26262 standard, and actively participates in functional safety reviews and audits of functional safety related products. Additionally, the Functional Safety Engineer provides complex technical consultation, interacts with senior customer personnel and internal senior management, and maintains an up to date knowledge/expertise in the current state of the art functional safety related development processes, techniques, procedures etc.

What you will need: Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Current experience in automotive functional safety engineering. Experience in automotive product development. ISO 26262 Certified. Familiarity with SPICE/CMMI.
