Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a national tier one supplier of components to the automotive industry. Due to the recent growth of the company, they have opened a position for a Friction Material Applications Engineer.

What you will do: The Friction Material Applications Engineer performs brake system analysis for OEM friction opportunities and selects appropriate friction materials for to meet program requirements. The role advises friction material engineering on future friction application needs for development of new formulations, manages, controls, and tracks all aspects of assigned friction programs, and coordinates engineering activities with test, manufacturing, prototype, quality control, sales, and other departments with regard to customer issues. The position approves/tracks all incoming prototype friction material orders and associated drawings, conducts regular open issues meetings with customers and develops plans to reach issue resolution, while also planning, coordinating, and preparing presentations on test programs and competitive evaluations. Additionally, the Friction Material Applications Engineer develops strong relationships with the customers and performs brake system calculations and modeling.

What you will need: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Current experience in tier one engineering. Hands-on friction material test experience utilizing brake dynamometers and vehicle test experience.
