Firmware Engineer

New Haven, Connecticut – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Firmware Engineer.

What you will do: The Firmware Engineer develops software for embedded hardware devices, develops associated hardware designs including  power supply circuits, sensors, and control/communication interfaces, and documents schematics using Altium Designer CAD. The position validates internally and externally through working prototypes, develops software for new products in C/C++ and Assembler using in-circuit emulators and simulators, and conducts electronic circuit simulation and analysis. The role creates product hardware firmware design documentation (architecture, state diagram, module specifications, schematics, BOM) and collaborates with test equipment and manufacturing engineers to define and implement manufacturing test procedures and test equipment. Additionally, the Firmware Engineer creates structured software to meet functional, design and test requirements.

What you will need: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Experience in embedded software design. Experience with C/C++ in embedded devices. Experience with multiple microcontroller families (PIC, Atmel, TI). Experience with communication and networking protocols (I2C, RS-232, RS-485, RJ-45, etc.). Experience with software-hardware interface development and integration. Knowledge of version control software and other S.W. configuration management. Experience writing manufacturing test software. Experience developing manufacturing test equipment. Knowledge of advanced wireless communication protocols (802.11, IR, ZigBee, Bluetooth).
