Williamston, North Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a national supplier of paper products. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Fiberline Superintendent.
What you will do: The Fiberline Superintendent ensures quality pulp is produced in a cost efficient manner, manages chemical addition and inventories, while producing good quality fluff pulp, and provides operational leadership and process support to the Fiberline operating department. The role sets daily tactical plans to maximize fluff pulp in a cost efficient manner, sets strategic plans for fluff pulp production, and troubleshoots pulp mill operations including Kaymr EMCC continuous digesters, brown stock screening, diffusion washing, bleach plant operations in an O2, D, Eop, D, P bleach line, and ClO2 production in an R10 process. The position provides input to maintenance plans and priorities, manages technical/chemical vendors and suppliers, and provides technical & training assistance to operations. Additionally, the Fiberline Superintendent reviews, develops, and supports effective, safe operating guidelines and procedures, while also participating in corporate initiatives, such as the corporate Fiberline and functional teams.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Pulp & Paper Technology. Industry experience is in Fiberline operations. Working knowledge of the chemistry involved and chemical interfaces associated with kraft digesting, bleaching, and ClO2 formation. Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems. Working knowledge of OSHA standards. Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations. Experience managing in a union contract mill.
