Fasteners Product Engineer

Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Product Engineer – Fasteners.

What you will do: The Product Engineer – Fasteners assists internal and external customers in defining product needs, developing new or improved products across the 4 types of fasteners. The role works closely with sales department and application engineering in support of new product designs and/or improvements, conveys technical requirements and specifications of the design to application engineering, and ensures that product designs meet or exceed customer and/or internal requirements. The position provides design direction to internal or external design resources, oversees the design, build, assembly, and testing of prototype fasteners, and supports prototype requirements and molding trials. Additionally, the Product Engineer – Fasteners understands and adheres to TS16949 procedures specific to the engineering department.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Strong understanding of CAD modeling. Experience in injection molded plastic products. Current experience in product engineering. Experience with APQP process, particularly DVP&R and DFMEA. Knowledge of automotive fastening products (i.e Panel Fasteners, Tube Retainers, Wire Routing Fasteners). Experience with Catia V5 and/or NX v 9.
