Fastener Applications Engineer

Novi, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a leading supplier of fastener products. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have opened a position for an Applications Engineer.

What you will do: The Applications Engineer is responsible for conducting, organizing, testing, and reporting of joint development on customer supplied materials. The position develops new joining technologies, supports prototype builds, and reports to the VP of Applications. The role documents test details and results, liaises with sales and engineering to ensure communication of technical requirements and problems, and conducts joining trials/strength tests on customer supplied materials. Additionally, the Applications Engineer oversees/manages projects from conception to production and provides suggestions to the organization for new methods of production and design.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and /or Material Science. Current experience in application engineering. Experience in evaluating and testing of materials and/or material joining. Knowledge of Instron tensile test machines and operating systems. Knowledge of PC Window based software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of fasteners.
