Lansing, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a growing, diversified, publicly traded 40 year old company that is a leading supplier to the commercial automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager.
What you will do: The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the environmental side of manufacturing, assuring regulatory compliance and updated environmental permits are in place. This role is the face of EHS for these facilities; highly visible with local regulators and legislators to be on the leading edge of pending regulations and implementing/drive corporate EHS strategy at the site operations level. The appointment develops, implements and monitors environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development. The position promotes awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility, writes environmental reports, and trains staff in all regulation. Additional responsibilities include taking the lead on sustainable procurement for all goods and services, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, coordinating hearing on environmental standards, coordinating all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy, and carrying out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization’s environmental risks and financial costs.
What you will need: Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Safety. Advanced experience in an EHS management role with a manufacturing environment. Quantifiable experience setting environmental policy for a manufacturing multiple manufacturing facilities. Preference toward any type of automotive product.
