Engineering Manager

Lisle, Illinois – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to the automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created Die Engineering Manager position open.

What you will do: The Die Engineering Manager improves the existing electronic contact stamping methods and processes for the division from current state. The role improves stamping speeds, part quality, tooling cost and process yields by identifying and developing new technology in the area of metal stamping. The position supports new product development needs for stamped parts, organizes, develops, and trains die designers, die process engineers and diemakers to perform at high levels to achieve department cost, quality and lead-time metrics. Additionally, the Die Engineering Manager develops yearly plans focusing on continuous improvement with emphasis on new product launch, tooling technology, standardization, quality, cost reduction and lead-time reduction.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Strong experience in high speed progressive electrical contact stamping dies or related discipline. Previous supervisory experience including development of subordinates through training and job instruction. Experience in tooling cost estimating,  quote preparation and project management. Understanding of progressive die design, construction and assembly processes. Working knowledge of contact stamping materials, properties and processes. Ability to travel up to 20%.
