Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a leader in manufacturing equipment assemblies for the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Engineering Manager.

What you will do: The Engineering Manager will supervise a hand full of engineers and report to the plant manager.  This is one of their largest plants in Michigan with up do 10 assembly lines.  This role will have full engineering responsibility over assembly tooling systems.  This will be a customer facing role executing tooling and equipment programs, including concept, design,  build, and program launch activate.  This positions will providing leadership for machine design, machine build and maintenance as well as controls systems.  This position will be responsible for budget tracking and management with a focus of Lean manufacturing implementation for all  assembly tool & equipment design, development and implementation.

What you will need: Engineering Degree. Current quantifiable experience  performing program management equipment launches including APQP, PFMEA, control plans, plant layout, tooling & equipment design, development & implementation, facility deployment,. Controls systems, capable of troubleshooting IT and controls related operation issues. Current experience leading and managing an engineering team in a fast paced, short window with  automotive sub assembly and/or sequencing plant. 10 years experience in tooling design and build.  Experience Tooling Engineering Manager.  2D / 3D Design knowledge and proficiency, SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred.
