Hopkinsville, KY – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for an Engineering Manager.
What you will do: The Engineering Manager builds and maintains a team provide valuable service to the program teams that serve the customer in the engineering activities, provides adequate and timely support to the projects in development, and provides adequate and timely support to the Product Engineers and CAD Designers who work in the project in development. The role prepares a design and engineering plan for each new project and presents it to the VP of Engineering for approval, communicates to the VP of Engineering any change in the Design and Engineering Plan of each project, and ensures all projects in development meet D&E, budget, and timing. The position ensures a monthly engineering report is completed for each project and review them with the Director/ VP of Engineering, interfaces with manufacturing facilities and external customers on technical issues and establish mutual trust and respect, and promotes and enforces the disciplines of DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DVP&R and disciplined team problem solving as well as APQP deliveries and design reviews. Additionally, the Engineering Manager minimizes cost and timing for engineering deliverables, creates design standards, develops training plans, schedules monthly meetings with Product Engineers, and works closely with sales personnel to support customer needs.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience with FMEA, DFM, DFA, CAD Software, and APQP. Current engineering management experience. Automotive experience strongly preferred. Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
