Engineering Lab Manager

Plymouth, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a large manufacturer of automotive components to highlights candidates to fill their newly opened Engineering Lab Manager role.

What you will do: The Engineering Lab Manager is the single point contact responsible for the quality, timing and costs associated with the daily running of the 5 internal test labs (HYGE sled, Servo sled, Noise/Vibration, Comfort and Strength/durability). The role ensures consistent/smooth day to day operations of the internal test labs, manages regular maintenance and calibration of all equipment, instruments and systems, and identifies/maintains adequate supply of replacement parts/gages/instruments. The position assists in the development of resource schedules as required, identifies technical and/or process gaps and identifies solutions, and supports customer discussions/communication. Additionally, the Engineering Lab Manager maintains quality system for lab operations to ensure third party (A2LA) accreditation, compliance to ISO 17025 and BOS 16949 audit, develops/implements business process improvements for lab operations, and manages a diverse team of engineers and technicians.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in manufacturing management. Knowledge of automotive test methods and automotive test specifications. Test lab experience (equipment, methods, instruments). Knowledge in the test planning, tools, methods and equipment used in the validation process.
