Decatur, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Engineering Director – Power Electronics.
What you will do: The Engineering Director – Power Electronics directs and coordinates all engineering related activities for respective value stream. The role establishes budget, develops internal systems and controls, develops engineering staff, evaluates risk/benefit scenarios, and oversees and encourages the adoption of ABS from an engineering standpoint. The position ensures robust new product designs, directs staff in cost reduction projects including design modifications, evaluation of impact on manufacturing and assembly, quality, customers, IP, and PS&L, and establishes yearly budget numbers, reviews monthly expenses, approves expenditures for supplies, experimental materials, travel, etc. Additionally, The Engineering Director – Power Electronics develops capabilities of individuals in engineering team through training, mentoring, and assignment of additional responsibilities, investigates latest developments in components, materials, processes, etc. to determine viability in new products, cost reductions or product improvements, and remains the decision maker and subject matter expert.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in engineering management. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro-E tools and Oracle BOMs. Proven understanding of light sources, photometrics, and lighting applications. Proven knowledge and understanding of Regulatory codes such as U.L., CSA, NEC, and National, State and local legislative requirements. Capable of managing multiple projects and defining priorities. Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, materials, tooling, and costing.
