Energy Storage Systems Functional Safety Manager

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with an international supplier of raw materials and electronics to the manufacturing industry. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Functional Safety Manager.

What you will do: The Functional Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that battery systems comply with ISO-26262 and related standards for safety, reviewing/assessing customer requirements for relevant safety implications and feasibility, and maintains safety-related fault analyses across electrical and electronics hardware and embedded software. The role works closely with internal and external engineering teams, suppliers, and customer to ensure coordinated safety compliance from specifications to design to production and leads system safety design reviews. The position maintains/enhances battery system design guides to capture lessons learned and continuous improvement and delivers the system safety plans and reports in a timely manner. Additionally, the Functional Safety Manager ensures designs are implemented in time for validation and production.

What you will need: BMS in Engineering. ISO-26262 working experience in qualifying systems with embedded HW and SW to ASCIL levels A, B and C. Working knowledge of high voltage systems and designs associated with safety and related risk mitigation. Experience in the design and testing of energy storage systems for use in vehicle applications. Experience with simulation tools, in particular Matlab and Simulink. Extensive experience with FMEA and FTA at system and subsystem level for safety-critical systems.
