Embedded Software Engineer

Novi, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Software Engineer.

What you will do: The Software Engineer develops/analyzes requirements, design, implement, integrate and test C code for automotive production embedded electronic module in the vehicle environment, while also developing software in compliance with a formal CMMi based product development process (PDP). The role is responsible for the development (design, test, implement and deliver) of advanced camera based algorithms from concept phase to production and for implementing customer and application specific requirements related camera systems including Vector or related drivers, bootloader. The position integrates bookshelved and/or 3rd party software such as CAN NOS into an application specific software ECU, validates software at component and bench level, and is the main customer interface for all software related activities.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in developing software using C in Real Time Embedded software for automotive applications. Knowledge and experience in implementing and integrating OEM specific Automotive Vehicle Networks (CAN and/or LIN) embedded software. Experience with implementation of various diagnostic protocols such has UGS, ISO 14229, KWP2000. Expertise in using CAN & LIN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI, etc. Experience using a disciplined software development process based on CMM or CMMi process model. Experience with customer interface for all software related activities including customer design reviews, clarify and negotiate customer requirements. Software Configuration Management tool experience preferably MKS. Knowledge of image processing and/or prior experience with vision based products. Experience in C++/.NET programming for PC applications Experience in developing scripts in Script-Fu, Python, perl etc a plus. Familiarity with OE-level diagnostics and production test tool interface and some Real-Time OS experience is a plus.
