Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a global, electronics company to identify an R&D Director for a newly created role.
What you will do: The R&D Director manages, motivates, leads and directs the day to day activities of the North American Position and Speed Sensor Engineering and Applied R&D Teams. The role plans, schedules, and coordinates a variety of projects to be carried in the fields of research, design, development, testing, investigations and analysis affecting mechanical and electrical aspects of new or modified products, develops goals and objectives, recommends changes, and maintains an effective reporting scheme. The position monitors training needs, creates, modifies, rolls out and continuously improves organizational structure, procedures and processes for maximum success and growth, interfaces with customer accounts as necessary, and develops and secures new product development commitments. Additionally, the R&D Director works with plant managers and plant program managers to successfully launch new products, manages and guides the performance of direct reports, and conducts annual performance reviews.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Advanced automotive work experience. Experience in the development and growth of high volume electro-mechanical products with a high degree of technical complexity. Current experience in research and development. Experience managing personnel from a director level.
