Electronics Engineering Manager


Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for an Engineering Manager – Automotive Electronics.

What you will do: The Engineering Manager oversees the RF (radio frequency) product development from the initial concept/quote phase through production launch. The role is responsible for meeting technical, cost, and schedule milestone targets for all engineering product development activities, for overseeing new electrical control unit development, and for developing product specifications consistent with customer requirements. The position conducts technical design reviews, both internal and with the customer, manages engineering resources supporting the product development, and utilizes change point matrix/DRBFM (design review based on failure mode) to evaluate design change points and define/execute engineering actions necessary to confirm and mitigate any product performance concerns. Additionally, the Engineering Manager – Automotive Electronics leads/directs teams in defining validation criteria based on product and customer requirements, reviews/approves all validation reports, and oversees validation issue resolution, while also performing risk assessments and interfacing with customers.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mid-range experience in automotive electronic product development experience at a tier-one supplier. Experience managing engineering staff for the development of automotive electronic control units desired. Radio frequency experience is also desirable.
