Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs     is working with a privately held multinational company in the automotive space. Our 50-year-old client is stable, growing and paid out their bonuses above 100% for the last 4 years and look to continue with strong growth. Because of this, they have a newly created position for an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer.

What you will do: The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer designs sensors and embedded controls for automotive and non-automotive electromechanical products, supports new designs for quoting activities, and works with component suppliers to select new components. The role performs worst case circuit analysis, performs component level DFMEAs, and works with system and software engineers to allocate requirements to hardware and software elements. The position assists in developing functional and diagnostic requirements, develops EMC Test Plans, and develops electrical test plans, performing electrical testing. Additionally, the Electrical Hardware Design Engineer participates in hardware and software design peer review activities and supports DFMEA activities.

What you need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience designing with 8-bit and 16-bit Microchip and Freescale microcontrollers. Working knowledge of developing DC brushed motor controls. Experience with analog and digital signal conditioning design. Hall effect sensor design experience. Experience designing for EMC compliance in an automotive environment. Schematic Capture/Simulation/PCB Layout experience using Altium Designer. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN). Familiarity with basic tools that apply to CAN networks. Functional understanding of C programming language. Experience with ISO 26262. Quality experience. Proficiency with LabVIEW programming.
