Electrical Engineer

Decatur, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client with headquarters in Atlanta. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Electrical Engineer east of Atlanta, Georgia.

What you will do: The Electrical Engineer designs, models and tests mixed-signal processor-based electronics, designs/sources PCBs, and evaluates existing and emerging technologies to identify solutions. The role communicates design and component constraints and trade-offs to other team members and management, evaluates Intellectual Property (IP) landscape to identify risk, and supports products to relevant electrical code and testing laboratory standards. The position designs/supports wireless communication products that comply with FCC part 15 and manages submissions for compliance testing, while also working closely with manufacturing to ensure that designs meet manufacturability and testing criteria. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer develops/distributes engineering data in the form of engineering change notices, bills of material and parts tracking, performs system integration and validation testing activities, and mentors junior team members on technical and professional subjects to strengthen their capabilities.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering. Current experience in electrical engineering. Expertise in analog and digital low voltage circuit design, PCB design and layout using Altium or similar software package. Expertise in designing wireless products that comply with FCC part 15 certifications. Experience in modeling, p-spice simulation, circuit analysis, worst case thermal analysis, MTBF and product lifetime expectancy calculation. Experience with communication and networking protocols (I2C, SPI, RS-485, Ethernet, etc.). Experience with wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, BLE, Proprietary, etc.). Experience in debugging embedded solutions using tools such as debuggers and scopes. Experience in recreating sporadic types of issues/failures using various debugging techniques. Hands-on experience with soldering, board bring-up and component-level debugging.
