Electrical Design Engineer - Automotive

Lansing,  Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a growing, diversified, publicly traded 40-year-old company that is a leading supplier to the commercial automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Director of IT, southwest of Lansing.

What you will do: The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for production design, development, and product/process improvements. The role participates in the design, development, or re-design of new or existing production, follows processes to achieve goals, and applies information or analysis to data. The position supports senior engineers on completion of tasks related to new product development or field issue resolution, produces engineering documentation such as 2-D schematics, 3-D models and assemblies, Production Assembly Drawings (PADs), part requirement drawings, etc. and develops engineering bills of materials that are complete, accurate, and on-time. Additionally, the Electrical Design Engineer utilizes computer-assisted engineering or design software to perform engineering tasks, assigns/approves work for CAD draftspersons, designers, technicians, or engineers, and supports robustness of engineering activities.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. CAD experience with emphasis on 2D and 3D; SolidWorks preferred. Experience in automotive branch circuitry design. Basic understand of CAN protocol for J1939. Basic programming knowledge. Experience in automotive harness design. Electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
