Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with an international supplier of raw materials and electronics to the manufacturing industry. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for an Electrical Design Engineer.
What you will do: The Electrical Design Engineer develops/executes pack/module/thermal design/development for Lithium-ion battery systems through leading technical decision and direction. The role manages/reviews the design of pack/module/thermal development programs for battery system and associated components by properly understanding customer requirements, while also assisting in the development of proposals for new RFI/RFQs. The position leads design of pack/module/thermal of battery system to maintain project-level development timing, develops design to ensure serviceability, manufacturability and other performance attributes for battery packs and modules, and provides regular status reports to management and team members. Additionally, the Electrical Design Engineer works with BMS (battery management systems) development part, systems engineering and current production team members, leads technical discussions and decisions with battery components suppliers, and assists in developing technology roadmap and best practices.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Experience in automotive controls development, preferably in BEV/HEV/PHEV industry. Working experience as a technical expert. Hands-on experience with CAD tools (Unigraphics or CATIA) and part release process. Working experience with Quality and Reliability disciplines (FMEA, 8D & APQP) and development process (PLM or PDM). Experience with battery systems, high-voltage (DC) systems or high-current systems is desirable.
