EHS Specialist - Safety

New Boston, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a leading supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a EHS Specialist.

What you will do: The EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring implementation and periodic review of the status of the management systems (ISO 14001; ISO 45001, ISO 50001). The role provides functional leadership for the health and safety officers and the environmental protection and energy experts in the plant, while also being responsible for the improvement of the procedures concerning occupational health and safety and emergency preparedness. The position addresses the health and safety aspects of planning, implementation and operations of equipment and social/sanitary facilities, creates/improves the accident statistics, environmental- and energy reports as well as system reviews, and manages in-depth analysis of incidents at work. Additionally, the EHS Specialist calls for and supports the risk/stress assessments, ergonomic evaluations and energy potential analyses at each workplace, audits the plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities, maintains/manages open hazard reports and countermeasures, and makes recommendations for policies and safety related training programs.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Current experience in EHS within the automotive industry. Board Certified Safety Professional designation is a plus.
