EHS Assistant Manager

Detroit, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an EHS Assistant Manager.

What you will do: The EHS Assistant Manager promotes a “Safety First” culture, maintains compliance with MIOSHA, and works closely with HR Manager and Engineering Manager. The role plans, implements, and coordinates the plant safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illness, death and financial losses, develops accident-prevention and loss control systems and programs, and serves as a liaison with MDEQ and the EPA. The position recommends/participates in the development of plant safety policies and procedures, inspects all plant facilities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements, and responds to and investigates reports of hazardous or potential hazardous conditions. Additionally, the EHS Assistant Manager conducts routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspection organizes/serves as Chairperson of Safety committee, and administrates workers compensation program.

What you will need: Bachelors degree in Safety/Environmental or Engineering. Current experience in safety within manufacturing. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
