Driveability & Emissions Calibration Engineer

Dearborn, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Driveability and Emissions Calibration Engineer onsite at Ford.

What you will do: The Driveability and Emissions Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing engine calibrations to meet emission standards while delivering best-in-class vehicle driveability. The role works with the base engine groups and vehicle teams to meet the customers desired engine objectives, performs verification testing in accordance with powertrain system functional objectives, and is responsible for developing test plans, establishing goals/timelines, and communicating status of a project. The position finds common ground balancing conflicting requirements between emissions, driveability, diagnostics, and fuel consumption and develops calibrations to meet emission requirements in a production environment. Additionally, the Driveability & Emissions Calibration Engineer analyzes, plans, and solves complex system problems as they relate to calibration development, manipulates/utilize large and complex sets of data, and supports calibration environmental trips.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience with drivability and emissions. Experience with direct injection and boosting systems and legislation for emissions, fuel economy and safety. Strong knowledge of gasoline combustion. Experience in engine calibrations meeting US/EU emissions standards. Strong knowledge in calibration data management. Knowledge of engine combustion optimization and emissions calibration with advanced air and fuel management systems. Basic understanding of OBD regulations. Knowledge of calibration tools such as INCA, ATI-VISION. Understanding of  MATLAB/SIMULINK. Experience with Ford.
