Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a world leader in the automotive industry. Our 100-year-old publicly traded client has engaged our services to help identify a Director of Steering and Axles for their growing business.
What you will do: The Director of Steering and Axles manages profit and loss in NA for Front Steer Axles and wheel ends, provides leadership and skills development of the product management group and interfacing functions, and provides technical leadership for Product lines within company. The role is resident expert of upcoming market trends influenced by regulations and other factors, while also evaluating market size, competitor accomplishments, and industry structures. The position executes long-term product and business plans to take advantage of changing environment, defines product line technology roadmap to hold leadership role in category, and manages engineering resource to support development needs. Additionally, the Director of Steering and Axles supports product managers with business case analysis and product plans, seeks out/identifies opportunities with external vendors and organizations, and supports the Sales team by developing strategic pricing models for products.
What you will need: Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business. Current experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. Deep understanding of front axles, wheel ends, and other automotive products. Experience in program management and product management. Solid financial analysis skills. Experience in developing and gaining buy-in for business plans from executive team. Ability to travel 30% (domestic and international).
