Auburn, Indiana – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a tier-one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have opened a position for a Process Development Engineer – Glass.

What you will do: The Glass Engineer develops methods, tools, processes and product variants in fabricated glass systems focusing on post attachment of a variety of bonded components as well as direct in-mold encapsulation through a variety of injection molding processes and materials.The role implements/reports on testing results and manufacturing process improvements, works with suppliers, equipment manufactures and plant personnel on new technology and process improvements in areas of priming, bonding and encapsulation, and conducts training with plant personnel on bonding and encapsulation principles and practical applications. The position establishes the definition of testing requirements, standards and protocols to meet internal and external requirements for priming, bonding and encapsulation, defines new testing methods or protocols for new products, and stays current with new material and process opportunities. Additionally, the Process Development Engineer – Glass brainstorms improved products and processes, develops IP to gain a competitive edge, and supports technical issues in existing products and processes, while also supports new program / product launches.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in technical field with knowledge of science and chemical interactions. Current experience in automotive. Current experience in process development. Experience preferably in glass fabrication and glass as a material and/or in adhesive systems and injection molding.
