Benton Harbor, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with an industry leader in the consumer products industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Senior Development Engineer.

What you will do: The Senior Supplier Development Engineer analyzes the quality performance and capability of consoles (HMI) and assembly suppliers and the definition of actions to enhance supplier’s performance. The role communicates the quality strategy for this commodity space with the commodity sourcing manager and the engineering leads involved on the development of the technology and suppliers roadmap, visits suppliers to perform process characterization and reviews supplier’s progress on the qualification of new parts using APQP / FMEA / MSA / SPC / PPAP. The position actively participates in the MVT (Material Value Teams), sharing the supplier’s quality strategy to support supplier selection and taking accountability on supplier development activities, works with suppliers to ensure flawless new product launches at the required volume rate, applying methodologies, and conducts risk and capability assessment to assign appropriate actions and tools for supplier development. Additionally, the Senior Supplier Development Engineer leads producibility reviews to ensure quality requirements are understood, drives quality improvement with suppliers through the use of structured tools, and manages information on supplier’s quality performance metrics in the field.

What you will need: BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Mid-range experience in supplier engineering with current experience in supplier quality and manufacturing. Technical knowledge about Consoles (HMI) or Assembly parts. Knowledge of supplier development processes (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, Run@Rate). Ability to travel throughout the US and Mexico up to 50%.
