Design Engineer-Catia

Plymouth, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a national supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Design Engineer – Catia.

What you will do: The Design Engineer – Catia is responsible for working with OEM customers to create roof mounted systems using plastics and aluminum extrusions, develops complex 3D shapes, and facilitates quoting and launching products/changes. The position creates/approves DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, PPAP and other OEM engineering development systems for review and product launch, provides manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies, and design/coordinates product launches to customer requirements. The role reviews vehicles, takes measurements and creates CAD data from raw information, while also working with APQP procedures.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in design engineering in the tier one automotive industry. Proven history of developing classes “A Model Surfaces” plastic parts for automotive products. Experience in fabrication (prototype building and shop practices). Experience with 3D modeling systems. Familiarity with steel, aluminum and engineered plastic materials. Experience with roof racks. Knowledge of teamcenter. Knowledge of Ford nomenclature. Experience with steel and injection molded automotive components.
