Design Engineer

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a 100-year-old company with a large footprint in the automotive tier-one space. Due to their growth, they have several newly created positions for a Design Engineer.

What you will do: The Design Engineer provides technical knowledge and analytical support through the preparation of product drawings, specifications, and/or conduct of product investigations and performance evaluations. The role participates in communication with customers to obtain and clarify customer technical expectations, while also executing calculations and FEA simulations in consultation with the team. The position creates test plans for the design validations and specifies component and assembly characteristics in drawings.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in design engineering in the automotive industry. Basic knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA. Experience with design considerations for stamping and cast mechanical parts such as steering. CATIA V5 knowledge. GD&T knowledge. Experience working for a Japanese manufacturer is a plus.
