Design Engineer

Greensboro, North Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a national company that provides energy technologies and services to electric utilities and their large industrial, commercial, institutional and municipal customers. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

What you will do: The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for new product design-supplier specifications and integration. The role develops product design specifications, reviews supplier specifications and technical data to determine applicability to the PDS, and writes RFQ (request for quote) documents, managing supplier submittals. The position reviews existing designs for compliance, peer reviews and approves drafting output prior to release for production, and attends pre-ship meetings, ensuring shop red-lines get incorporated into as-built prints. Additionally, the Mechanical Design Engineer designs for manufacturability, reliability, field maintainability, while also identifying/executing projects that reduce the overall cost to manufacture, install and operate our generator products.

What you will need: Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree. Experience in a lead engineering role. Proficient with 3-D CAD software, preferably AutoCad Inventor. Generator or other reciprocating engine packaging experience. Working understanding of IBC, NFPA, ISO and other power generation building/construction/installation codes. Experience with UL (Underwriters Laboratory) listings and classifications.
