Costing Estimator - Exhaust Systems

Novi, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Cost Estimator.

What you will do: The Cost Estimator creates all program related cost estimates for new business, service parts and engineering changes, assures that business case/cost estimate correlate with information in SAP, and participates in internal and external VAVE cost reduction workshops. The role reviews cost estimates for exhaust after treatment systems, creates cost estimates for new business and engineering changes, and determines if supplier quotes or target is to be used for cost estimates for new business and/or engineering changes. The position ensures SAP and Cost Model data are accurate, approves CN’s, maintains current business cost estimates, and negotiates piece cost, capital expenditures, tooling and E, R&D cost with customers and suppliers. Additionally, the Cost Estimator provides program managers and senior management with comparison of target and actual business results for current and new programs and validates/maintains cost models and base data.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in product/manufacturing engineering. Experience in piece cost tooling and equipment/CAPEX estimating of stampings, tubes and complex weld assemblies. Experience working for a manufacturing supplier preferably automotive. SAP R/3 knowledge preferred. Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability. Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems. Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
