Core Software Engineer


Livonia, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   is working with a national manufacturer of usuable energy components and storage systems. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have opened a position for a Core Software Engineer.

What you will do: The Core Software Engineer is responsible for defining, designing and implementing software architectures and tools for new products in the automotive battery market. The position develops/maintains core software to support the use of battery management system electronics, supports development of core algorithms, such as State-of-Charge, State-of-Health and State-of-Function, and support software architecture and model-based development efforts. The role follows and improves established software development processes, develops best practices and tools for project execution and management, and participates in software (design, code) reviews. Additionally, the Core Software Engineer coordinates development efforts with the electronics systems and hardware teams.

What you will need: BSCS/EE with software development experience. Embedded systems and  C programming experience. Experience integrating and supporting driver-level software. Experience with hierarchical software architectures. Solid working knowledge of CAN and/or LIN Networking. Familiarity with project change and configuration management software, such as Jira, SVN, Clear Case, Clear Quest, PVCS or Change Synergy. Experience with software maturity models, such as CMMi or Automotive SPICE. Experience with flash drivers and/or boot loaders a plus. Experience with UDS and OBD Diagnostics a plus. Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems is a plus. Tier 1 supplier experience a plus.
