Controls System Engineer

Albany, New York- Movement Search and Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a world leader in the power generation and water/wastewater treatment industries by delivering the widest array of advanced instrumentation, control, and automation technologies. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Gas Turbine Engineer.

What you will do: The Gas Turbine Engineer has overall responsibility for developing and managing the IO database, identifying & updating impacted plant drawings, and creating drawing packages for DCS retrofit installation, while also leading during site installation and providing site management and supervision of installation sub-contractors during all phases of installation and commissioning. The role performs site walk-downs, prepares scope of work documents and the engineering estimates to complete the project, and conducts detailed field I/O verifications at site in order to develop the I/O database, based on the field I/O verification and the existing site drawings and documentation. The position supervises the work of best cost engineers, designers and drafters and is expected to mentor and train them in the all technical aspects of Ovation DCS retrofit installations, while also  partcipating in the development and documentation of a set of best practices and procedures related to our installation design & engineering solutions.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with mid-range experience. Experience with design and installation of a new DCS platform to replace an existing DCS, PLC or hard wired control systems in the fossil power industry. Experience with power and grounding, field termination drawings and marshalling schemes that are used in typical control system installations in the fossil power industry. Experience with field instrumentation, conduit and cable schedules.  Familiarity with Ovation, WDPF and other DCS and PLC manufacturers I/O and cabinet layouts is a plus.
