Controls Service Engineer

Southfield, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national manufacturer of industrial machines to highlight candidates to fill their newly created Service Engineer role.

What you will do: The Service Engineer installs, debugs, adjusts and performs repairs on the electronic and electro-mechanical portion of products at the customer facility and during the assembly process in-house. The role services all products at customer site, including installation, repairs, maintenance etc, provides training on products to customer representatives, and composes procedures, technical bulletins and technical documentation as directed by immediate supervisor. The position performs all preventative maintenance on machines, suggests engineering changes to improve the performance of the system, and promotes the sales of service, training, masters, parts, machines and keep informed regarding the inventory of spare parts at customer sites. Additionally, the Service Engineer completes detailed service reports of work performed during service call, including collecting customer data per applicable procedures, while also assisting shop/manufacturing floor assembly or related work when not conducting service activities.

What you will need: Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology. BSEE or BSME preferred. Experience as a service engineer in a high technology manufacturing environment. Experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens S7 PLC. Experience with controls applications for machine tools and/or test equipment. Control Panel building abilities desired. Expertise in rotating/balancing equipment a plus. Crankshaft or driveshaft experience is a plus. Ability to travel up to 70%.
