Controls Engineer

Lufkin, Texas  – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a construction supply company that services both residential and commercial markets. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for an Electrical Engineer.

What you will do: The Electrical Engineer designs, implements, maintains, and improves electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, and systems specifying components (such as drives, controls, breakers, etc) needed and providing suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales. The role is responsible for end-to-end control system design and development, develops project estimates, including project schedules and budgets and manage project costs, and operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. The position directs and coordinates manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and requirements, performs detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications, and inspects completed installations and observes operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Current experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience programming PLCs (Allen Bradley a plus) and computer software. Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, preferably AB & Modicon. Familiarity with HMI controlled control systems, preferably AB. Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and ability to apply it in industrial manufacturing design. Experience with PC hardware, operating systems, spreadsheets, databases, engineering design software such as AutoCAD (computer-assisted design), etc.
