Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a national tier one supplier of components to the automotive industry. Due to the recent growth of the company, they have opened a position for a Controls Engineer.

What you will do: The Controls Engineer designs/develops controls for brake related electro-mechanical assemblies from the simulation through to testing and validation phases. The position supports mechanical engineers during the design and development phases of electro-mechanical assemblies, designs theoretical modeling of system dynamics and system simulation methodology, and performs state estimation and closed loop state feedback using modern control methods. The role validates closed loop system robustness and parameter sensitivity, supports specialized equipment development for characterization of electrical and mechanical sub-components, and develops functionality logic specific to various geographic regions or vehicle manufacturers. Additionally, the Controls Engineer prepares customer presentation materials related to design development and performance status, develops software related countermeasures to meet performance specifications as necessary, and supports development of the test plan necessary for design development.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in controls development. Current experience in tier one engineering. Knowledge of brakes and brake systems. Proficient in Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow software. Experience with dSPACE. Knowledge of CAN vehicle interface using Vector or equivalent software tools.
