Controls Engineer

Laurinburg, North Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international, tier-one automotive supplier. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Controls Engineer.

What you will do: The Controls Engineer establishes program objectives by analyzing program proposals and collaborating with management, establishes program plan by determining time frame, funding, savings, and staffing, and approves program schedule. The role establishes/achieves financial objectives by preparing a program budget, develops/supports interfaces for equipment communications with shop-floor tools and devices, and provides electrical designs and programming within applicable standards to build new or modify existing production machines and systems. The position is responsible for changes to ladder logic and software, confirms program performance by establishing standards/testing requirements, and prepares program status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Additionally, the Controls Engineer controls program plan and schedule changes, monitors scope of program/project and the need for management attention, and develops detailed design specifications.

What you will need: Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Expert knowledge of complex automation with PLC background, special machines, hydraulics, pneumatics and robotics programming interface. Understanding and experience in the Project Management Life Cycle process is preferred. Experience programming with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, along with various Robot brands. SQL, JavaScript, OPC/Kepware, and Flexnet V9.6 programming and machine integration experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of the Controls Logix, SLC and Factory Talk software. Experience using Concept to Customer methodology or equivalent APQP or Project Management Life Cycle process is preferred. Ability to travel up to 50%.
