Contract Supplier Tooling Engineer - Emissions

Novi, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com     is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Our client is a major Tier One for German automotive. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Supplier Tooling Engineer.

What you will do: The Supplier Tooling Engineer provides technical support to the procurement and advanced manufacturing group in general for evaluating tooling quotes, making sourcing decisions, evaluating potential stamping suppliers and developing existing stamping suppliers. The role is responsible for procurement, supplier quality, and our assembly plants, to help stamping suppliers to troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and delivery issues. The position interacts with program management, manufacturing and prototype groups to support pre-production build requirements, while also interacting with stamping/tube suppliers to optimize their tooling processes in an effort to insure cost effective world class quality stampings are being produced for the assembly plants.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing. Experience working for a manufacturing supplier preferably automotive in a tooling capacility. Mid-range experience as Journeyman in Tool and Die working in a stamping manufacturing plant. Experience in stainless steel stampings a plus. Proficiency in GD&T, CAD manipulation reader (overlays, etc.). SAP proficiency. Ability to travel up to 40%.
