Benton Harbor, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with an industry leader in the consumer products industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Materials Planner.
What you will do: The Materials Planner coordinates/executes scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using SAP, assures that the Operations have the necessary materials to meet required manufacturing/production levels, and coordinates input on material shortages, farm out, and delivery of material. The position identifies/reacts to material plans that do not meet customer requirements, and monitors implementation of corrective action plans from our supply base or logistics provider. The role provides effective scheduling and implementation of all programs based on the Master Schedule, cycle time, supplier capacity, or tooling availability, monitors supply and demand misalignment using SAP and APS (Advanced Planning System), and collaborates with the Master Scheduler to implement corrective action plans. Additionally, the Materials Planner coordinates the efforts of cross-functional groups resolve bottlenecks, parts shortages, machine maintenance, manpower issues, and supplier capacity, supports service parts requirements, and analzyes current production status to identify problem areas.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field. Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations. Knowledge of product and production parts. Working knowledge of PC based software: (SAP, MRP, EDI, ASN, MPS).
